PURPOSE: To provide the video CD player holding the temperature of an MPEG video recorder 7 to a prescribed temperature or below without using the exterior heat radiating member of the video recorder. CONSTITUTION: A video CD player is provided with a data reading part 2 reading image data from the video CD in which the compressed digital image data composed of each picture of I, P and B is recorded by an MPEG format, a data processing part 3 performing a signal processing for read image data, an MPEG video decoder 7 performing an MPEG decoding of the image data for which the signal processing is performed, an image display part 13 displaying the decoded image data and a control part 5 controlling operations. In this video CD player, a temperature sensor 15 is arranged on the video decoder 7. When the sensing temperature of the temperature sensor 15 is a prescribed temperature or more, the video decoder 7 decodes only the I picture and supplies the image data of one picture just before to the image display part 13 till the decoding of the next I picture after the decoding of an I picture and makes the image data be displayed. |
