<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an auto-direction mechanism for reverse type tape recorder which can surely automatically invert the going and returning paths of a tape from the end of the tape with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: An auto-direction mechanism is constituted of a pinch roller switching lever 24 which switches the positions of pinch rollers 30 and 31, F-R switching lever 51 which engages an oscillating gear 56 with the gear 13a or 14a of one of reel drive discs 13 and 14, cam gear 53 having cam sections 53c and 53d, first and second detection levers 66 and 67, direction switching control lever 80, etc. When the running direction of a tape is switched from FWD to RVS, the second detection lever 67 is oscillated by pressing the base end section 66c of the first detection lever 66 against the part of the second detection lever 67 above the bottom side of the front end section 67b of the lever 67. When the running direction is switched from RVS to FWD, the lever 67 is oscillated by pressing the base end section 66c of the lever 66 against the part of the lever 67 below the top side of the front end section 67b of the lever 67.</p> |
