PURPOSE: To check transmission errors while saving space by inputting the signals of transmission error detection to a control circuit and changing the display contents of a video display element by the output of the control circuit. CONSTITUTION: This receiver is provided with a digital video signal transmission error detection circuit 11 for detecting the transmission error of digitally transmitted video signals, the control circuit 12 for changing the display contents of the video display element by the output of the transmission error detection circuit 11 and the video display element 13. Then, when the transmission error is detected in video signal data in the digital video signal transmission error detection circuit 11, the control circuit 12 receives error detection signals from the digital video signal transmission error detection circuit 11 and changes the display contents of the video display element 13. In such a manner, by changing the display contents of the video display element 13 when the transmission error is generated, a viewer is notified of the transmission error and the transmission error is checked while saving the space. |
