<p>PURPOSE: To provide a vehicle family discriminating device capable of clearly discriminating a bus from a large-sized truck whose number of shafts, tread, vehicle height, etc., are proximate. CONSTITUTION: This device for discriminating a vehicle family running on a toll read, etc., is provided with a pair of optical vehicle detectors 1, 2 installed confronting by holding a vehicle intruding path between, a footboard 7 embedded in a road surface under the optical axes of the optical vehicle detectors and which detects the number of shafts, tread of a vehicle, etc., and a pattern discriminating means which discriminates the vehicle family by processing the output signal from the optical vehicle detector.</p> |
