A snowshoe binding including a rigid lower plate (6) supporting the front portion of the boot sole and having a front projecting portion (7) extending upwards therefrom to form a front toe-piece. Two resiliently semi-flexible side arms (8, 9) have front ends integral with the front projection (7) and extend on either side up to their back ends (10, 11) with a degree of freedom to bend sideways. A clamping strap (14) holds the boot against the rigid lower plate (6) and squeezes together the back ends (10, 11) of the side arms (8, 9) so that they engage the sides of the boot and provide directional support therefor.
