The carrier tape (2) moves between printer head (5) and roller (11), through a separator (9) with separator edge (8) to remove the labels (1) from the tape, and between printer roller and pressure roller (10). A deflector (18) is located between separator edge and pressure roller, to increase the tape wrap angle around the separator edge. The deflector is located on a rocker arm (19), and is moved about an axis (20) and locked. The axis is parallel to th rotary axis (15) of the printer roller. The pressure roller is fastened to its own rocker arm (21), which also moves about an axis parallel to the printer roller axis. The rocker arm is spring-loaded toward the printer roller.
