The invention concerns formwork or a formwork element for a haunch formwork system which is composed of a flat or smooth formwork panel (7) and a haunch formwork element (9) which can generally be secured to the lower edge of the former. The skin (4), which is either already attached to the formwork panel (7) or can be attached to it once it has been curved, is complemented by a skin (4) on tthe haunch forwork element (9) and is fitted to it once the angle between the formwork panel (7) and haunch formwork element (9) has been set. The stiffening supports (10) and haunch supports (11) are joined together at the haunch angle. In order to allow the haunch angle and dimensions to be altered, the haunch supports (11) and stiffening supports (10) are secured to the stiffening supports (10) via an articulation (12) about an axis (13) which is approximately parallel to the skin (4) so as to be capable of articulation, and/or the length of the haunch supports (11) is adjustable. In addition, the connection between the haunch supports (11) and the stiffening supports (10) can be adjusted by providing different engagement depths or insert lengths.
