<p>The battery comprises a closed container (1, 2, 3), which has several vent openings (9), and which is able to place the region inside the container in communication with that outside it and which are associated with safety valves (10). These safety valves consist of a cylindrical tubular valve element (10) made from an elastomer, arranged with its surface turned partly towards the said vent openings (9) and means of compression (8, 11) which are able to deform the said valve element (10) partially by squeezing it against the edge of the vent openings (9). <IMAGE></p> |
