A heating unit for a hot water room heating system includes a heat exchanger heated by the hot exhaust gases of a room-heating combustion system and an equalizing vessel connected thereto. The heat exchanger and the equalizing vessel can be inserted in serial configuration into the closed room heating pipe system of the hot water room heating system. The heat exchanger may comprise a pipe coil, more particularly of copper, surrounding the exhaust gas pipe, or may be a container adapted for insertion in the exhaust gas pipe and including a series of heat pipes to conduct the exhaust gas therethrough. |
