SOLUTION: In a damping unit for applying damping medium to the plate cylinder 6 of an offset and rotary printing machine, a damping oscillating roller can be driven at the peripheral speed, which is proportional to that of the plate cylinder 6 and smaller than that of the plate cylinder 6. In this case, a damping medium applying roller 5 contacting with the plate cylinder 6 is driven through frictional connection at the same peripheral speed at the peripheral speed of the plate cylinder 6. |
