摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the maneuverability and operability of a vehicle by overriding a manual selection mode in the given condition of operation so that shift can be automatically started and executed from a preset connection gear ratio when a transmission is in an operation mode which requires manual selection for executing automatic shift. SOLUTION: A control device 104 includes a mechanical transmission, an engine speed sensor 11, an input shaft speed sensor 98, an output shaft speed sensor 100 or a spindle speed sensor 102, and an electronic controller (ECU) 106 for receiving input signals from an driver control console 210. The input signals are processed in accordance with predetermined logical rules for feeding command output signals to a transmission operator such as a solenoid manifold 112 for controlling an main actuator 70 and an auxiliary actuator 96 and to the driver control console 210. In the given condition of a vehicle to be operated, usual request for starting manual shift in a hold-type operation mode is thus overrided for forcing automatic shift to be started or executed.
