PURPOSE: To perform high-grade recording even when any aq. ink is used by forming the ink receiving layer provided on at least one surface of a base material from an aq. resin, a resin containing a tertiary amine salt in its molecule and a resin containing a quaternary ammonium salt in its molecule. CONSTITUTION: A recording medium 25 suitably used in an ink jet recording system generating and flying small droplets of ink 21 by a system foaming the ink 21 by heating to utilize the foaming pressure of the ink 21 to bond them to a recording medium 25 to perform recording has an ink receiving layer on at least one surface of a base material.
