PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desiccant canister capable of efficiently absorbing steam and at the same time preventing scattering of the desiccant contained in the inside and to provide a method for producing the desiccant canister. SOLUTION: This desiccant canister comprises an approximately cylindrical body part 12 and a first end face part 14 and a cap-like second end face part 16 in both end and contains a desiccant in the inside. The body part is impermeable to liquids an gases and the second end face part 16 has a large number of through holes 18 preferably having a truncated pyramidic shape wider in the inner open end side and a gas-permeable disk member 20 is installed in the inner face of the perforated end face part 16. The first end face part may be made as same as the second end face part.
