PURPOSE: To obtain a new lignan glycoside useful for foods, medicines, cosmetics, agriculture, etc., by dispersing a pulverized material, etc., of a humldified material, a germinated material, etc., of a sesame seed in an aqueous medium, then reacting the resultant dispersion with a saccharide chain hydrolase and removing a solid matter and a fat-soluble and a water-soluble components. CONSTITUTION: A pulverized material or a defatted meal of a humidified material or a gernminated material of a sesame seed is dispersed in water or a buffer solution and directly shaken or a saccharide chain hydrolase comprising at least one or more of an α-glucosidase, a β-glucosidase, an α-galactosidase, a β-galactosidase, a cellulase, an amylase, etc., is added to the resultant dispersion. The enzymic reaction is carried out at 50 deg.C for 15hr by shaking and the reactional solution is separated by filtration to remove a solid matter. The prepared solution is subsequently extracted with n-hexane to remove a fat- soluble component and the residual solution is then extracted with n-butanol to remove a water-soluble component. The resultant n-butanol extract is concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure to afford the objective new lignan glycoside of the formula [R is a glycosyl residue such as glucose, galactose or fructose: (m) is 1-3]. |
