摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of a container with the pushout of a plug by using a piston usually deviating and having a sealed relationship with an entrance for applying compression to the fusible plug to relieve pressure in a pressure chamber. SOLUTION: The operation of a piston causes a plug 62 formed of fusible material (fusible alloy) to be compressed between a piston 64 and a porous member 60 in a fluid escape passage 58. When the temperature is over a preset value, the plug material is fused and discharged through the porous member 60 and the fluid escape passage 58 to the outside of a pressure relief device 50 with the compressive force granted by the piston 64. After the plug material is discharged outside, the piston 64 is moved in a space which is shared by the plug 62 before. When the first end 66 of the piston 64 is moved apart from the entrance 54 of the pressure relief device 50, a fluid passage 42 in the device 5 is opened so that a gas flows through the fluid passage 42 to relieve accumulated pressure.</p>
