Drive arrangement for bicycles

The force from the feet of the rider acts upon the ends of a rocker. This has a rotational axis extending in the direction of travel for normal bicycles, and perpendicular to the ground for racing bicycles. Force is transmitted by pull cables or pull rods to two mechanically operated freewheels spring-loaded to each other, they act in opposite directions and are mounted on the rear wheel hub, and then onto the rear wheel.
