PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redox amplifying agent aqueous solution useful for developing a color photographic element. SOLUTION: This redox amplifying agent aqueous solution having pH in the range of 10.0-13.5 is constituted of a color developing agent and/or an auxiliary developing agent and a borate or another complex compound capable of reversibly forming hydrogen peroxide or a compound providing hydrogen peroxide and a complex with hydrogen peroxide at the concentration equivalent to 30% w/w solution of 0.1-50.0mL/L. The complex compound exists at the concentration of 1.0-100.0g/L, however the relative quantity between the complex compound and hydrogen peroxide is set to give the effective quantity of hydrogen peroxide for redox amplification, dampen hydrogen peroxide, and reduce the drop of the redox amplification speed. This solution is useful for developing the color photographic element.
