A key holder comprises two parts 1, 2 which are linked to one another by means of hinge member 7 and are provided with coupling means 4, 5 in order to effect a durable link between them. In the closed state, the key holder encloses a cavity 3 designed to receive a handle (bow) 11 of a key 10. The hinge member 7 comprises an opening 8 to receive the shank 12 and bit of the key thus considerably reducing the risk of the key being lost. The key holder is very much suitable for universal use with respect to the key it can accommodate and facilitates identification of the key, moreover providing room for an advertising message, for example. <IMAGE>
