FORMATION OF LAMINAR CATALYST

PURPOSE:To prevent the separation of paste from a catalyst and stabilize shaping thereof by feeding the sheets of a specific composition and coating an expanded metal lath with a catalyst paste through paste application rolls in rolling motion for formation into a laminar catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst paste 3 is fed onto a substrate 2 of expanded metal lath and paste application rolls 1a and 1b are then rotated in order to coat each side of the substrate 2 with the catalyst paste 3, with papers 5a and 5b interposed between the roll 1a and the catalyst paste 3 on the base plate 2 and between the roll 1b and said paste, respectively. The catalyst paste 3 is applied into the substrate 2 of expanded metal lath by the rotation of the rolls 1a and 1b and a laminar catalyst 4 composed of the papers 5a and 5b and the catalyst paste is rolled out in the direction of the arrow.
