PURPOSE: To obtain a structure of easy maintenace wherein double refraction due to the heat which is generated in laser medium by pumping can be compensated, by installing a specific prism and a halfwave plate which is arranged between first laser medium and the prism. CONSTITUTION: First laser medium 1a and second laser medium 1b which are arranged almost in parallel, a light source for pumping the first laser medium 1a and the second laser medium 1b, and a pumping cavity for accommodating them are installed. A prism 100 is installed in which the incidence point is different from the radiation point, a radiation light turns back almost parallel with the incident light, and a specific relation exists between the polarization state of the incident light and that of the radiated light. A halfwave plate 13 is arranged between the first laser medium 1a and the prism 100. After the polarization of the laser light radiated from the first laser medium 1a is rotated 90 deg., the laser light is made to enter the second laser medium 1b. Thereby a simple constitution using a small number of optical components is obtained and the maintenace is simplified. |
