PURPOSE: To easily specify an optional range other than a rectangle and improve the usability by specifying a area other than an rectangular area, converting the area into areas in character units, and selectively copying, moving, and deleting them. CONSTITUTION: A block copying function is selected. Then an optional area is specified by operating a pen 19. According to the area specifying operation, the data in the specified area are inputted from a pen interface(PEN-1F) 20 and temporarily stored in a RAM 13. At this time, it is checked whether or not characters displayed on a screen are present in the specified area, character by character, and information on that is temporarily stored in the RAM 13. Then block areas in character units are redisplayed on an LCD 16 on the basis of the checked information. The characters in the respective character areas are copied to specified destination. Namely, control program information for converting the specified range into optional ranges in optional units is provided to copy, move, and delete an optional range other than a rectangular range. |
