PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic device which accurately measures the life of an electrophotographic photoreceptor by itself and displays it. CONSTITUTION: In the electrophotographic device, a photosensitive-layer abrasive means 4 and a photoreceptor life display device 6 are connected on the same rotating surface of the image nonformation part of the photosensitive layer 3 of the cylindrical or belt-like photoreceptor 1, and an electrode 5 abutting on the surface of the image nonformation part is provided. By the rotation of the photoreceptor 1, the abrasive means 4 abrades the surface of the image nonformation part at constant pressure. Also, by the contact of the electrode 5 with a photoreceptor support 2 exposed by the abrasion, the electrode 5 reports the photoreceptor life display device 6 of the contact and also makes it display the life of the photoreceptor 1. |
