PURPOSE: To gather information relating to a fault detected in a node by gathering internal information requested to a network node based on stored read-out information and storing it in piles. CONSTITUTION: When the controller 26 of an NMS server 22 is informed of an outline message for indicating the generation of the fault from the network node 12a, an automatic gathering command and gathering rules stored in a storage device 32 are read out to the controller 26. The internal information of the node 12a corresponding to the outline of the generated fault in the outline message is judged and a request for reading out the internal information from the node 12a is sent out to the node 12a. Then, the node 12a sends the corresponding internal information to the controller 26 as an internal information read-out response to the request. The request and the response are repeatedly executed until required information is gathered and the internal information inputted to the controller 26 in such a manner is successively stored in the storage device 32.
