The failsafe AC contact unit is for an electro-magnetic relay. The contact unit comprises a moving contact part (3) and two fixed parts (4, 5) for forming a close and an open contact. Each contact part comprises plate spring, the springs are kept apart, being fixed into a common block (10) of insulating material. The free ends of the springs carry rivetted contact elements (4b, 5b) of silver, and between these contact elements is a further unit (3b) which is of silver-impregnated carbon. This ensures that neither the closure or open contact elements (4b, 5b) can be welded together with the movable contact element (3b). |
