PURPOSE: To make it possible to manufacture a plate heat pipe having a continuous length and a large-area by cutting off a specified portion of a bulkhead opposed to and paired with an adjacent tunnel which is communicated and connected resultant from cutting the surface of the plate located close to a sealing part on both ends of the plate and welding and closing an opening cut from the surface of the plate heat pipe in continuous length and in a large area. CONSTITUTION: Shallow grooves 1-4, which cross each other substantially at right angles, are cut and formed on the edge in the longitudinal direction at a position separated from both ends of a ribbon-shaped metal plate 1 having through hole groups 2-1 to 2-n with a specified spacing. Then, a thin film is partially cut from the bottom of the shallow groove 1-4 and a cut hole 1-7 is cut and a specified part of a bulkhead 1-1 is removed, thereby forming a cut part of a bulkhead 1-2. Then, a filler metal tape 1-5, which is thick and wide enough to be fitted in the shallow groove 1-4, is inserted in and welded with the shallow groove 1-4, thereby filling up the shallow groove 1-4 while a cut hole 1-7 of a residual thin film 1-6 is closed and sealed in air tightness. |
