PURPOSE: To provide an audio signal decoding method/device which can reduce the arithmetic quantity and also can reduce the filtering delay in the band synthesization. CONSTITUTION: An audio signal decoding method/device includes an inverse quantization part 8 which selects the signals of some of M pieces of bands and also applies the inverse quantization to the signals of selected bands among those coding signals which are obtained through the coding processing given to the signals of each of M bands divided from an audio signal band, and a synthesization filter bank 9 which serves as a band synthesization means to give the band synthesization to those signals that are inverely quantized at the part 8. When the bank 9 having the degree lower than the normal filter processing is used, the filtering delay can be reduced. |
