PURPOSE: To provide an original reader provided with a mechanism for opening/ closing the upper unit of a device main body and whose safety is made higher, and also,whose workability is improved. CONSTITUTION: A page turning operation for a book type original 14 and the reading scanning for the original information are executed by moving a page turning/reading means 15 back and forth against the original surface and separating the original pages one by one by a page turning means 18. An opening/ closing mechanism for opening the upper unit of the device main body in order to execute the jamming processing and the maintenance, etc., of the book type original 14 is constituted of a 1st opening/closing mechanism for opening the upper unit of the device main body comparatively small and a 2nd opening/ closing mechanism for opening the upper unit of the device main body 1 comparatively wide. |
