<p>Disclosed is a sickly person lifting device which is foldable into a compact size for convenience of carrying. A strut (10) is pivotally mounted on a base (2) which mounts thereto a plurality of wheels (8, 9) capable of rolling on a floor surface. An arm (11) is pivotally mounted to a movable end of the strut (10). Provided on a movable end of the arm (11) is a shackle (12) adapted to engage with a hanger (63) which bears the weight of a sickly person (82) being lifted. Respective ends of an actuator (13) are pivotally connected to a longitudinally intermediate portion of the strut (10) and a longitudinally intermediate portion of the arm (11), respectively. Driving of the actuator (13) lifts or lowers the movable end of the arm (11). The strut (10) and the arm (11) are kept extended substantially in parallel to the base (2) when the lifting device is not used.</p> |
