Frame structure for motor vehicle in modular form

In a motor vehicle structure, a frame is formed by several tubular members (2,4,24), at least part of which have their cross sections optimised by internal hydraulic high-pressure forming. Members are inserted into node members (30) and fastened to them. The frame structure consists of prefabricated sub-structures which are fastened together, such as front frame, rear frame, roof frame, etc. Pref. the members are of aluminium semi-fabrications. Joints with node members are secured by welding, adhesive bonding, screwing or riveting.
