<p>The present invention provides an indexable insert for grooving operations, the basic form of which is triangular which comprises extensions (17, 18, 19) in each cutting corner, each said extension having a cutting edge (20) which intersects with two converging edges (21, 22). The extension (17, 18, 19) might have a symmetrical or non-symmetrical configuration. The top surface (23, 24) of the extension provides rake race in regard of the cutting edge (20) and the clearance face (28) thereof being oriented in the direction of the thickness of the insert. <IMAGE></p> |
