PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in ground color stability by adding at least one urea compd. represented by a specific formula to a thermal color forming layer as a coupler. CONSTITUTION: As a coupler added to the thermal color forming layer of a thermal recording material, a monourea compd. having an arylureido structure [HOOC-Ar-NH-C(=O)-NH-] having a carboxyl group in its molecule represented by formula (R is a phenyl group, a 7-10C alkylphenyl group, a 7-10C alkoxyphenyl group, a tri-halogenated methylphenyl group or a halogenated phenyl group and X is a 1-6C alkyl group or a 1-4C alkoxy group) is used. By using this monourea comd., the change in a ground color is not substantially generated at environment temp. of 120-135 deg.C and recording of image density worthy of practical use can be obtained by a thermal head. |
