发明名称 MICROORGANISM RESISTANT TO NICOTINIC ACID ANALOG AND PRODUCTION OF BIOTIN
摘要 PURPOSE: To produce a large amount of biotin useful as a raw material for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, a feed additive, etc., by culturing a microbial strain having a plasmid containing a part or total of biotin operon and resistant to a nicotinic acid analog. CONSTITUTION: A microbial strain having a plasmid containing a part or total of biotin operon (e.g. plasmid pXBRP319) and resistant to a nicotinic acid analog such as 6-aminonicotinamide is cultured in a medium and the produced and accumulated biotin is separated from the cultured product. A biotin-accumulation microorganism is produced e.g. by imparting a parent microorganism holding the above plasmid with nicotinic acid analog resistance or imparting a parent microorganism with nicotinic acid analog resistance and then introducing the above plasmid into the microorganism. These microorganisms have excellent biotin productivity and are exemplified by E.col; MS10/pXBRP319 (FERM BP-4927) and E.col; ANA91/pXBRP319 (FERM BP-4928).
