PURPOSE: To enable the degree of kneading to change optionally and at the same time, make it easy to adjust the feed amount of a material in a first stage and a second stage by dividing the specified length of a thermal cylinder into sections in an axial direction and making the inner diameter facing movable normally and reversibly in the rotating direction of a screw. CONSTITUTION: A thermal cylinder 10 has a sectional cylinder 14 which consists of a fixed cylinder 17 and a rotating cylinder 19 supported axially, in a freely rotatable manner, on a bearing by the fixed cylinder 17. In addition, a spline 23 is provided on the outer peripheral face of the rotating cylinder 19, and is rotatable in a normal and a reversed direction to the rotating direction of a screw by engaging with a gear 24. If the rotating cylinder 19 is caused to rotate in an opposite direction to the rotating direction of the screw, the degree of kneading increases but the extrusion amount remains unchanged. On the contrary, the rotating cylinder 19 is caused to rotate in the same direction as the rotating direction of the screw, the degree of kneading decreases but the extrusion amount remains unchanged. |
