The slatted boards are raised and lowered by a lever (7) actuated by a nut (6) threaded on a spindle (5) rotated by gearing (3) from the electric motor. The housing (2) is rendered moisture-proof by a unitary seal comprising a first part formed as an all-round gasket for the housing itself and a second part (21) for the opening (18) through which the nut moves. Prior to installations the two parts lie in substantially the same plane, against which the second part is rotatable. The portion (17) of the housing which contains the lever mechanism is not sealed.
