Mechanism removing crown corks, etc. from drink bottles

The bottles in crates are guided by conveyors into the active sections of opening tools, which are located in groups at the periphery of a hollow roller, engaging the crates and rotating in coincidence with the crate feed. Each opening tool comprises a housing (4), in which an axially displaceable sleeve (6) is radially prestressed against a stop. The sleeve outer, free end is widened in a funnel-shape and divided in segments (9,10), with one (9) firmly coupled to the sleeve and another one (10) expansible from it. The segments are prestressed into a closed position. The funnel inner faces grip behind the crown corks by a groove (14,15) in the outer flank (22).
