摘要 The device comprises of toothed pulleys 8a, 8b, 8c and 8d which are manufactured together from a single piece of material. Toothed belts 12a, 12b are produced by splitting a single wider belt circumferentially into two. These manufacturing methods allow the device to have minimal relative drive play between the respective parts. The pulleys are rotatably arranged on shafts 18, 20 which are mounted in shaft retainers 22a, 22b. Drive shaft 18 is driven by a drive device and simultaneously transmits movement to belts 12a, 12b. Slide bodies 4a, 4b are coupled to belts 12a, 12b so that the bodies move, transversely on guide rails 6a, 6b, simultaneously and in synchronism with one another. A transmitter element 15, eg a laser light source, is attached to body 4a and transmits a signal, through sheet 10, which is received by sensor element 14, eg a light sensitive detector. The signal detected is analysed by an electronic evaluation unit so as to provide information on the layer condition and structure of a vapour-deposited metal layer on the sheet 10.
