To be able to enhance as needed the cleaning action of a steam-cleaning device that has a water supply tank that is heated to generate steam, a steam line coming out of the steam chamber of the water supply tank, leading to a steam delivery unit and containing a blocking or metering valve, and a liquid water supply line into the steam line, the invention proposes that the supply line be a riser (8) which dips into the water chamber of the water supply tank, that a metering or blocking valve (10) be installed in the supply line and that the supply line feed into the steam line upstream of the blocking or metering valve in the steam line.
