PURPOSE: To provide a conductive roller which has excellent surface smoothness and hardly contaminates a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: This roller is produced by forming a conductive rubber elastic layer 2 such as a conductive ethylene propylene rubber compsn. on a roller core 1, and further forming a first conductive nylon resin layer 3, epichlorohydrin rubber layer 4, and second conductive nylon resin layer 5. The first and second conductive nylon resin layers 3, 5 are formed, for example, by compounding conductive carbon into alcohol-soluble nylon, dissolving the nylon in a solvent such as alcohol to prepare a coating liquid, applying the coating liquid, heating and melting, and rapidly cooling. The epichlorohydrin rubber layer 4 consists of, for example, epichlorohydrin-ethylene oxide copolymer rubber containing conductive carbon. |
