PURPOSE: To enable the user of portable terminal equipment to easily set a destination and transit places one after another by utilizing the terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION: When a location having no coordinate data is set as a destination on terminal equipment 20 side, coordinate data generated by means of a navigation system 10 are returned to the equipment 20 from the system 10 and stored in the RAM 213 of the equipment 20. When the same location is again set as a destination on the equipment 20 side, the coordinate data are transmitted to the system 10 together with the individual information of the location and the system 10 is not reguired to generate the coordinate data. When transit places are set one after another on the equipment 20 side, the system 10 retrieves a route in accordance with the transit places. |
