PURPOSE: To easily inform an observer of all the plural modes which can be selected and a present mode after the selection. CONSTITUTION: This camera is provided with a mode displaying means 22 having mode display parts respectively corresponding to the plural modes which can be optionally selected with respect to the specified function of an equipment to which this device is loaded inside an observing screen, a discriminating means 1 discriminating whether any of mode display parts inside the observing screen is nearly closely observed or not based on the output of the line of sight detecting means, a mode switching means 1 switching the mode to the mode corresponding to the mode display part discriminated by the means 1, and a display controlling means 1 making the mode display part discriminated by the discriminating means 1 a specified cycle of flickering display and turning- off display or, for example, red display, and making the mode display part corresponding to another mode turning-on display or, for example, green display. |
