SUBSTANCE: claimed invention describes process for preparing individual stereoisomers of 4-alkylthio- and 4-heterylthio glutamic acid derivatives based on reaction of individual stereoisomer of 4-bromoglutamic acid derivatives with mercaptan salts at molar ratio thereof of 1:(2.5-3) is atmosphere of inert gas or nitrogen in ethanol-benzene mixture.
