PURPOSE: To obtain a thin and small-sized liquid crystal display device whose assemblability and reliability are improved and an illuminator for the liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: The device is constituted so that the end part of an auxiliary reflection member 10 may be received by an auxiliary reflection receiving part installed on a supporting member 30, or by the auxiliary reflection receiving part and a shield box 42, and that the auxiliary reflection member 10 may be supported by a tension work. Since the auxiliary reflection member 10 is only pressed by the auxiliary reflection receiving part, such effects can be obtained that the assemblage, and the assemblage and maintenance of an illuminator and the display device are facilitated, besides, by inserting an auxiliary reflection end part equipped with an auxiliary reflection projecting part and an auxiliary reflection stopper 14 in a gap between an illuminating substrate 40 and the shield box 42, the auxiliary reflection end part is stably supported and electronic parts auxiliary reflection member in the shield box is prevented from being short-circuited, then, the liquid crystal display device with improved reliability and the illuminator for the display device can be obtained. |
