Calender assembly

The calender assembly for processing a web, of paper, etc., has a stack of rollers with a piston/cylinder unit to raise and lower the rollers with the piston at a limit stop setting. A third mechanical limit stop is at the cylinder for the piston, with projections (9) distributed round the peripheral direction, to form limit stop surfaces (10, 11) at given axial positions for counter projections (8) at the piston (2). The piston (2) and cylinder (3) can be rotated in relation to each other. The counter projections (8) are shaped so that during rotation the counter projection (8) can move past the projection (9) in rotary settings.
