The boot for the snow-board use has recesses (1e) each side of the heel and fitted with a horizontal grip bar (3). This is gripped by a pair of spring loaded catches (5,9) on each side of the binding. The toe end of the boot is pushed into a tapering grip each side of the toe. The heel catches have a space (10) between them which allows any snow drop out and which prevents snow packing into the recess. One heel catch (5) is fixed and the other is movable (9) and has a sloping upper edge to guide the grip bar into the locking position.
