A highly hydrous soft contact lens comprising a copolymer which contains as an ingredient a monomer having constitution similar to that of phospholipid represented by the following general formula: wherein X is and R<5> is hydrogen or methyl, Y is -CH<6>-, -CH<6>-O-, -CH<6>CH<6>-O-, -CH<6>CH<6>CH<6>-O-, or -CH<6>CH<6>CH<6>CH<6>-O-, n is an integer of 1-20, and, R<6>, R<7> and R<8> are the same or different groups and alkyl or hydroxyalkyl of 1-8 carbon atoms. Further, a treating solution for contact lenses which comprises a polymer containing as an ingredient the above monomer and a solvent which can dissolve the polymer.
