The valve, opened, for normal service, manually or by remotely controlled motor, is held open by a bar (1) on its spindle. Tilting the pivoted (25) trip lever (21) frees the bar end and the valve closes (F). The release employs a pivoted L-shaped actuating arms (4), connected through a vertical rod (5) and pivoted (8) links (7) to an operating finger (13) on a rod (11) housed in a tube (12) traversing the conduit and actuated on internal overheating by a fusible element (10). A similar element (6) on the linkage rod (5) responds to excessive ambient temperature. The valve may be closed locally, manually, by lifting an end knob (14) on the tubed rod (11), or, remotely, by a solenoid (22), raising the arm (4).
