The heating unit (1) has a burner (2) with a combustion chamber (3) bounded by a bottom (10), and a heat exchanger (9) round at least part of the burner. The annular space in the heat exchanger between the inner (11) and outer (12) walls has a liquid heat carrier flowing through it. The heat exchanger is constructed in such a way that its bottom connects the inner and outer walls as one piece, and at the same time, has its inner side bounding the combustion chamber. The heat exchanger may be cast or pressure-cast from non-ferrous metal.
