PURPOSE: To obtain a glass filler capable of giving thermosetting resin artificial marble having excellent hot water resistance even without gel-coating layer, freed from whitening or swelling, and excellent in transparent feeling. CONSTITUTION: This glass filler stands treated with a silane coupling agent, being glass powder composed of spherical particles and having an oxide composition comprising 55-65wt.% of SiO2 , 10-20wt.% of Al2 O3 , 20-30wt.% of MO (M is an alkaline earth metal element or zinc), 0-10wt.% of TiO2 , 0-10wt.% of ZrO2 and <=1.0wt.% of alkali metal oxide(s). Besides, this glass filler has an average particle diameter of 1-300μm and specific surface area of <=2.0m<2> /g.
