PURPOSE: To improve ink absorbing ability of a writing layer of various cards and improve surface layer strength by providing an irregularly shaped crack on the writing layer and setting a value of a center line average roughness of the surface of the writing layer to a specified range, in a material to be recorded having a writing layer consisting of a pigment coating layer formed on one face of a base material. CONSTITUTION: In a sheet having a writing layer formed on one face of a base material 1 consisting of a plastic film, the writing layer has an irregularly shaped crack 3 on its surface and has a center line average roughness of 0.5-2.5μm on the surface. As a main binder for forming the writing layer, a hydrophobic polymer is used. A ratio F/R between a weight R for a solid part of the whole binder and a weight F for a solid part of a pigment in the writing layer is set to 0.3-2.0. Thus, by generating the crack 3 on a surface of a pigment coating layer 2 as a writing layer, an ink is absorbed through the crack 3, a time for drying the ink is bettered and the strength of the coating layer is improved by only putting a little pigment into the coating layer 2. |
