PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a novel supported catalyst which contains at least one compound of rhenium with aluminum and can be used in the metathesis of olefins. SOLUTION: A compound represented by the general formula: O3 Re-O-[Al(OR)(L)x -O]n ReO3 (wherein R is a 1-40C hydrocarbon group, which can be substituted by at least one alkoxy group or at least one halogen; L is a solvent; (x) is 0 or 1; (n) is an integer of 1-10) is synthesized, and an organic or inorganic carrier is impregnated with the solution of the compound so that the compound is supported on the carrier.
